Nearly 1,400 GPs work in the department. An excellent network of hospitals in Pau, Oloron, Orthez, Mauléon and on the Basque coast in Bayonne, Hendaye and Saint-Jean-de-Luz, together with private establishments spread across the area, provide an all-round health service of excellent quality.
779 beds, 345 medical personnel, with a further 2,335 people employed by the hospital, the most up-to-date technical equipment including, from late 2012, a 3 Tesla MRI (it is the second establishment in Aquitaine to have one). Pau Hospital has also been recognised for its level of participation in Clinical Research (the only establishment in Aquitaine to have received such recognition, excluding university hospitals)
Around 1,271 beds, 340 doctors, with a further 2,902 people employed by the hospital. And cutting-edge equipment. A neurosurgery department as well as a hematology department (only two in the region), two scanners, two MRIs, a PET scanner and an interventional radiology unit which enables sophisticated interventions.
